my categories settings are currently in beta the my categories page allows you to define any aliases if the data shows different naming conventions this is used in brand analytics to give you accurate and clean data for each category add default categories aiq has a list of default cannabis categories that you can use to kickstart your process navigate to settings > company account > my categories click (•••) more menu in the top right then click use default categories a confirmation modal will pop up, click continue note using default categories will override any categories you created we recommend adding our default categories first, then editing from there this will populate a list of common categories that you can edit or delete to your liking add categories manually navigate to settings > company account > my categories click (+) to add a new category fill out your category info you can also add sub categories once finished, click save category alias mapping category alias mapping allows you to simplify and cleanse your data if retailers are using different naming conventions there's two ways you can map aliases our category mapping flow or map them manually category alias mapping flow our category alias mapping flow reduces the manual effort and time it takes to map duplicate names to a single category alias navigate to settings > company account > my categories click on the unmapped retailer categories tab here you will see a list of all unmapped categories from your connected retailers select related categories and click add to alias at the top near the search bar select which category and/or sub category you'd like to funnel your selections into, then click save note category aliases are created in the category aliases tab you will see your changes reflected in brand analytics within a few minutes the unmapped retailer categories list syncs every 48 hours manually map category aliases you can also manually map category aliases this is helpful for one off instances while reviewing your brand analytics in brand analytics, copy the name of the category you'd like to map to an existing alias navigate to my categories settings click on the alias you'd like to map to paste the copied name into the alternate names field, then click save unmap category aliases in the event you need to undo a mapping, you can do so by following these steps navigate to settings > company account > my categories in the category aliases tab, click on the alias you are trying to unmap in the alternate names field, you can remove any of the alt names here to unmap them from this alias note any alt names you unmap could take 24 48 hours to re appear in the unmapped retailer categories tab however your changes should reflect in brand analytics within a few minutes
