Texting Settings
Here you can see your delivery success rate as well as an option to select your protection level.
If you are registered for 10DLC:
This setting will default to MMS to send with images. This is good if you do not want images or want the option to select images during each campaign.
Setting it to SMS will allow you to do the above, plus send SMS by default.
Note: Image ONLY is not allowed on 10DLC.
If you are NOT registered for 10DLC:
- None: No filtration protection
- SMS (fka "light")
- All messages are sent as an SMS (no image)
- Link directs consumer to customizable age age then content page
- High filtration in regulated markets
- MMS (fka "premium")
- AIQ suggests this as the highest converting and most popular texting option.
- All messages are sent as an MMS (image with text)
- Link directs customer to 1-time verficiation page before content
Implied Consent available in Canada only.
- Set the implied consent start date to automatically opt-in to text messaging all personas that have shopped within the last 2 years. Any persona that has not shopped within the last 2 years will be opted out unless they have explicitly opted in. The start date will set the opt-in date for all personas who are opted in as a result of this setting to whichever is later: the given date, or the date we first saw the contact.
- When implied consent is toggled customers will NOT receive an opt-in verification after shopping.
- Set the maximum number of opt-in attempts we will send to a persona before we stop trying to opt them in. This is a safety measure to prevent us from spamming a persona who is not interested in opting in. If you set this to 0, we will use the default of 2.
Your customers may text JOIN to the number provided here.
Note: You can customize certain settings per store by using the "By Store Settings" button.
- Brand name used in text messages: This is an optional setting best for regulated industries; if your brand name contains regulated terms, we suggest you replace them or use an acronym or abbreviation.
- 10DLC-approved accounts only: Brand name used in texts can be overriden using Store Specific Brand Nickname (Retail Stores > Edit Store)
- Default Texting Logo: This default texting logo goes out with all text messages that do not have explicit images set.
- For regulated industries if your logo/image contains regulated content, create a safe version to be used in text messages to avoid filtration.
- Opt-In Text Logo: The opt-in texting logo goes out for all opt-in messages.
- Double Opt-in Request: You can change your opt-in message users receive to confirm their subscription.
- Your message must contain "reply Y or Yes" in order to let users know how to finalize their SMS subscription.
- Do not use regulated terms or your brand name in this message if it contains any regulated terms.
- Do not incentivize customers to join or mention words such as "reward", "promotion", "discount", "loyalty", etc.
- Post Opt-in Confirmation Message: The message customers receive after they opt-in to join your SMS program. You can optionally add macros or personalization here.
- Opt-out reply text (required): Text that follows your message content to allow contacts to opt-out of your messages.
- Use Default Opt-In Message: By default, we send double opt-in messages through secure, low-filtered private numbers. To use your own unregistered numbers and custom messages, you can turn this off at your own discretion.
- Default marketing notice message: Change the default notice contacts receive for text messages. You must always include the {{landingPage}} macro so our system knows where to place the link within your content.
- Wallet login message: Change the default notice contacts receive when they request access to their wallet. You must always include the {{landingPage}} macro so our system knows where to place the link within your content.
For certain regulated industries, linking from a text message to a landing page is required before going to your menu or shop. We allow for full customization of this landing page:
- Choose between the modern and linktree style for your landing page (previews for both available in settings).
- Toggle buttons (Call us, Get Directions, etc) on/off that you want to show on your landing page.
- Note: If a customer's favorite store is known, we will automatically link the above buttons to direct them to that store.
To register for 10DLC:
- Navigate to Settings > Texting Settings
- Under the Carrier Registrations section, click the button "Register for texting"
- Fill out the Text registration form. There are specific instructions at the top of the form to follow, including:
- You cannot re-register a previously banned entity
- All information much match your legal entity's name and branding
- Your texting MMS media may not contain illegal content (images or words)
- Submit the form.
- Timing for approval is variable and may take up to 7 to 14 days. Once registration is approved, the Telnyx 10DLC field will automatically populate and you will automatically be provisioned with 49 phone numbers.
If you toggle on this setting, you can purchase phone numbers manually (instead of AIQ doing it for you). See Phone Manager for Non-regulated Industries.
