Redeeming Discounts with AIQ

If no POS integration is available or native discount redemption is not supported, you can still redeem and apply discounts following one of these discount redemption flows.
There are two simple methods for redeeming discounts and deducting customer points from their AIQ persona without an integrated POS connection.
Both methods ultimately result in the redemption of a discount and deduction of points from the customer's persona in AIQ. A matching "mirrored" discount must be created within your POS or Ecom system in order to apply the discount at the transaction level.
If the customer has a discount available, they can redeem the discount directly. This will deduct the points from their wallet and "apply" the discount through AIQ.
This will not apply the discount through your POS or Ecom provider
Staff can also redeem discounts directly through customer wallet, if enabled through your AIQ Loyalty Settings
- Accesses Customer the Wallet
- Customers can pull up their wallet on their device at checkout.
- All available discounts and tiers will be displayed in the wallet. (if enabled, staff can also access wallets to view and redeem customer discounts)
- Select the Desired Discount
- The customer or staff member can browse the available promotions to select the desired discount to redeem.
- Redeem the Discount
- The customer clicks the "Redeem" button within their wallet.
- Redeeming the discount removes the discount and deducts points from the customer's wallet.
- POS Checkout (depending on redemption settings in-app)
- The staff member asks the customer to show the redeemed discount or redeems the discount through the customer's wallet.
- Customers should present the redemption confirmation (code or digital display) to the staff member to continue.
- The staff member enters the discount information or scans the code into the POS system to apply the discount to the transaction.
- The discount is now applied within the POS system.
- Complete Transaction
- The customer finalizes their purchase with the applied discount.
- The transaction is completed with discount, and the loyalty redemption is logged under the customer's persona through AIQ.

If no integration is in place between your POS/Ecom provider and AIQ, it will not be possible to push the discount to the transaction. In this situation, the discount will need to be applied to the transaction directly.
Mirroring a discount from AIQ in your POS system will allow your staff to easily identify, redeem, and apply discounts across both systems.
If mirroring discounts, you'll need to create a exactly matching (mirrored) discount within your POS system and AIQ to use.
When the transaction is being processed, you'll want to follow the steps within your POS to apply the mirrored discount that was redeemed from the customer's AIQ persona following one of the flows above.
