Birchmount Network
Customers have the ability to convert points to dollars via a digital gift card AND utilize reloadable payment cards with the Scan to Pay functionality. This creates a stickier customer as these reloadable cards can only be spent at your store. The freedom to convert points to gift cards also increases loyalty engagement.

The Reloadable Payment Card feature allows customers to use a digital card within their loyalty app to pay in-store while earning loyalty points. This enhances customer engagement and speeds up checkout.
- Ensure your POS is setup on the Birchmount network for gift cards. Birchmount establishes the connection between your apps and allows barcodes to be redeemed within your POS seamlessly. Don't worry, there is no setup charge.
- If you are already a Birchmount client, you can proceed to step 3. Your Point-of-Sale assumes that the barcode you scan to redeem dollars is a gift card. It is extremely simple and compatible.
- If you are not already a Birchmount client but would like to sign up for Birchmount to utilize reloadable payment cards, please sign up for Birchmount HERE.
- Obtain your Birchmount App ID (this is Birchmount’s ID, not your AIQ app ID). Please contact: [email protected] to receive your Birchmount ID
- Add your Birchmount App ID into AIQ by going to Loyalty App Settings -> App Features page -> Features tab -> Enable the Allow Scan to Pay toggle under the General section. Once the toggle is enabled, the Birchmount App ID field will be displayed.
We highly recommend you also add additional reward points that customers will receive when reloading the card / topping it up. This can be set up for every dollar loaded or for every load with a flat points boost. Navigate to Settings → Integrations → Birchmount to edit these.

- Obtain your Birchmount API key and enter it within AIQ under Settings → Integrations → Birchmount.
- Open up the hamburger menu and select Scan to Pay
- Create a digital card:
- Enter the amount you would like to load onto your card
- Agree to terms and conditions
- Select your checkout method:
- U.S. - Spence and Aeropay
- Canada - Spence and Stripe
- Connect your bank account to one of the methods above
- Scan the QR code to use your digital card
- Open up the hamburger menu and select Convert to gift card
- Enter an email address and the number of points to convert to a digital gift card
- Tip: Feeling generous? Enter a friend's email and surprise them with a gift!
- Click on See participating retailers to see a list of available locations to redeem the digital gift card at
- After agreeing to the terms and conditions, hit Send gift card
- The customer will receive an email from [email protected] with a unique bar code that will be used to redeem their digital gift card. They'll also have an option to download a gift card pass to their Apple or GooglePlay wallet
Customers can redeem up to $250 dollars at a time. This can be done in one shot or broken up. There is a minimum of 25 points to be redeemed.
When a customer converts points into a digital gift card, you'll be able to see the redemption and the effect it had on that customer's points total by logging into your AIQ dashboard and heading to Personas -> History -> Points.
