Kiosk
Kiosks allow for a quicker in-store checkout and comes with security features so no customer data is shared. For a more about orders in kiosk mode, see Kiosk Orders.
If you have in-store kiosks, you can put your tablets/displays into AIQ Ecommerce's kiosk-mode. This works on any type of hardware or software, it just needs a browser. For best usage and performance, we recommend using an iPad.
- Navigate to Store Settings > Kiosk
- Optionally enable additional fields (Medical ID, DOB, Email, Phone number)
- NOTE: Some POSs do require AIQ Ecommerce to send certain fields when order sync is enabled. You can check with your POS account manager to see if you need to enable any of these fields.
- Add in which payment methods you would like to accept for kiosk orders (selecting an ACH payment method will result in QR codes being generated at order completion for the customer to pay for using their mobile device.)
- Copy the URL
- Paste it into the browser of the tablet you want to use for your kiosk.
You can hide the address bar by entering Full Screen mode. This will only work for one webpage at a time. On Windows, use the F11 key to toggle Full Screen mode. On Mac / iPad, use Command + Control + F. See more instructions.
You can decide to show/hide the following fields at Kiosk checkout:
- Phone
- Email
- Date of Birth
- State of Residence
After a period of inactivity, a timeout modal will appear and the session will end. This is to ensure customer data is kept private. To edit these settings:
- Navigate to Store Settings > Kiosk
- In the Kiosk Timer field, input the number of seconds you'd like to set before the timeout modal appears.
- Default is 45 seconds
- In the Timeout Modal field, input the number of seconds you'd like to set before the customer's session ends.
- Defaults is 15 seconds
