Co-Marketing Best Practices

4min

Share the Template one week in advance

It's a good idea to give retailers some lead time in the event they have existing campaigns going out at the same time, want to review and/or make edits to the campaign, need additional information from you (the brand), etc.

Contact the retailer ahead of time to make sure they're aware of the Template

While AIQ sends retailers new Template notifications via alerts in their dashboard and emails, it's a great idea to double down and contact the retailer directly.

Build out marketing channels that make sense to the retailer

Retailers use different marketing channels (SMS, email, native app push, etc) so be aware of that when building out Templates. If you know a retailer doesn't have a native app, don't add native push notifications to the Template.

Only use audience segmentation if your budget is limited or you actively want a smaller reach

The goal of Templates is to provide promotional and educational content to as many customers as possible. So while audience segmentation is a valuable tool, be aware that the more you segment, the smaller the audience.

Align Templates with your promotional calendar

AIQ gives you the ability to set activation and expiration dates on Templates. Take advantage of these features as you build out monthly or quarterly promotional calendars to supplement your marketing efforts with retail-driven engagements.

Not everything needs to be a promotion

Your brand is valuable. Don't cheapen it by inundating customers exclusively with discounted product content. Leverage the brand-sponsored Templates tool to educate, inform, and communicate promotions.
