Cart Upsell
Upselling products in cart is a strategic move for retailers for many reasons: You can increase AOV, improve your customer's experience, and enhance product discovery.
Note: By default, Cart Upsell will be set to ON, with Data Source 'Purchase History'.
- Navigate to Store > Settings > Products > Scroll to 'Cart Upsell'
- Toggle on "Show Cart Upsell products in cart"
- Add at least 1 Data Source
- Save
There are 3 different Data Sources available to prioritize what products will show in cart. Use the reorder number input and/or arrows to order them from highest priority (1) to least (3).
Purchase History: This takes into account the customer's last 10 purchases.
Note: For logged-out users, we will attempt to fill a guest purchase history based on the customer's prospect ID, but if they have never purchased at your store before or have cleared their cookies, purchase history will not take affect.
Price: Set a price min and max. You can use this to suggest low cost add-ons at cart.
Brand: Prioritize up to 5 brands. This is good for those stores that have in-house brands or any brand deals. Use the reorder number input and/or arrows to order them from highest priority (1) to least (5).
Consumers will see up to 10 products at the bottom of their cart accessed via horizontal scroll, e.g.:

When customers add an item to their cart using the cart upsell feature, we'll mark the 'add_to_cart' event in Google Analytics 4 (GA4) with an item attribute labeled 'Cart Upsell.' This enables you to easily track the number of add-to-cart events generated by the Cart Upsell feature.
